There are countless smoking programs available for the smoker who wants to quite, most of which focus on will power. Some of these stop-smoking programs include substitute products like pills, chewing gums, self-help tapes and books. These are just a few designed to help you overcome your dependency on cigarettes. Hypnosis' focus is much more than an attempt to strengthen your ability to resist, but rather, it is designed to help eliminate the desire. Instead of giving up something that part of you might still enjoy (a sacrifice), the individual's goal is to be rid of something that he/she no longer wants.

It is important to determine just what personal need smoking satisfies. There are some smokers who look upon their cigarettes as a friend. They see a companion that has been with them for a long time and may derive some sensual gratification from the rituals of their smoking habit. Hypnosis helps you to discover some of these root causes and replace the desire to fulfill them with other choices. Because hypnosis also helps you address the physical dependency you may be experiencing, your withdrawal process will be more comfortable.

My goal is to help you quit in a relaxed way with as little discomfort as possible. Many people make the superficial decision to quit without understanding if the decision was truly right for them. An example may be when a man's wife buys her husband a carton, three days after he quit. "Take these; I can’t stand you without them!" Being free of cigarettes does not mean that you have to go through withdrawals, gain weight or any of the other myths about quitting.

In our first meeting, we will review all of the reasons that you like to smoke, as well as all of the reasons you hate to smoke. Quitting is a merely a decision; finding a reason that makes you truly want to quit is a must. We will uncover that reason or reasons and make sure that you are smoke free for good. The follow up sessions will allow you to maintain your decision moving forward and remain smoke free.
