Insomnia and Sleep Disorders

Patterns of sleeping are often created when we are young and continue on into adulthood. Also, during stressful situations or times of challenge, our sleep habits may be altered which makes less resourceful at the worst possible time. We are here to help you create new strategies and patterns that will allow you to sleep regardless of what is happening in your life.

Often times, children are taught less than useful habits when it is time to sleep. Parents may unknowingly have given a child some food, or energy, right before bed; may have given allergy medication that amps up a child; tucks the child in and winds up getting them excited; the boogie man keeps the child on alert. In each of these situations, a habit of staying awake and alert is created can last long into the adult years. The reasons may be different, but the outcome is the same; feeling tired in the morning, lacking energy and being frustrated lying awake in bed at night.

When you come in for a hypnosis session, we will assist you in creating new and healthy patterns that will ensure a solid night sleep. Our first step will be to uncover the source of where the pattern began, release any habits are that are less than positive and make adjustments that are more resourceful and positive in the situation. We will then create new techniques and strategies to use at night that will allow you to fall asleep simply and easily.

Individuals vary in the amount of sleep they need and in the quality of the sleep they experience. Some people experience difficulty falling asleep, while others have frequent awakenings during the night with some difficulty falling back to sleep. And still others might find themselves waking up much too early in the morning still feeling as if they could use more sleep. Poor sleeping habits may cause further problems during the day, such as tiredness, a lack of energy, difficulty concentrating, and irritability.

Often problems with sleeping are due to the conscious mind's preoccupation with fears, worries, stress, anger, and emotional conflicts. The mind sometimes has a hard time letting go of its conscious processing, a necessary step to getting a good night's sleep. It might be of great value to discover and relieve the many causes of your minds preoccupation.
